CIDER MAKERS CALL FOR TAX DUTY CUT

The National Association of Cider Makers (NACM) is pushing for a cut in cider duty and scrapping of the duty escalator.

The UK cider industry produces and supplies 48 per cent of the global cider market, with 18,000 acres of orchards across Britain.
Resulting in approximately 265,000 million tonnes of apples produced each year.

Cider makers provide more than 7,000 jobs in the UK and adds £1bn into the rural economy a cut in duty will enable investment, increase sales and protect the cider making heritage in the UK for future generations.
